M.A. Linguistik

The M.A. program Linguistik at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is a two-year master's degree program that offers an in-depth overview of linguistic theories and methods. It starts with the introduction to the theory-driven structural knowledge of the linguistic system as well as the knowledge of diverse methods for the collection and evaluation of linguistic data. The subsequent expansions via more advanced courses allow the students to choose specializations among a wide range of research areas, including individual languages and language comparisons, processes of linguistic variability and change, psycholinguistic processes in production, processing and acquisition, as well as multilingualism.

The admission requirement is a degree with a focus on theoretical linguistics. As the program is predominantly taught in German, C1 level proficiency is required at the time of application.
