Teaching Interests
My main areas of interest are in using translation and literature as effective tools in third-level language acquisition. My courses involve and highlight the benefits of incorporating transcultural exchange into a practical language-learning framework with the aim of improving students’ motivation and creativity. The use of literature offers students considerable variety in form and style which can be used as a basis from which they can enhance their academic language skills such as critical reading, writing, and presenting. The translation classes increase students’ awareness of the nuances of language in a multilingual and multicultural world.
Extra-curricular HU interests
Responsible for the Humboldt Book Club, a loose interdepartmental social gathering, open to everyone working or studying at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
