B.A. Amerikanistik - Entwurf 2
The Bachelor Program in "Amerikanistik" at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin encompasses a curriculum that can be completed in six semesters. The program conveys expertise in the cultural and literary history and theory of North America as well as the methods and tools of American Studies. Topics during the program may be immigration, cultural conflict, revolution, nation building, expansion and imperialism, industrialization and capitalism, world power and postmodernism, postcolonial theory and diversity, feminism and gender studies, African American Studies and Native American Studies -- and many other topics.
Professional opportunities for Americanists include the fields of international organizations, cultural management, adult education, publishing, journalism and international business.
- The Studien- und Prüfungsordnung (StO/PO) is the document that regulates which courses and exams you have to take in your program. It can be accessed via the Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaftliche Fakultät. As the Studienordnungen are continually improved, various versions of them exist. Make sure you find the version of the Studienordnung under which you were/will be immatriculated (by year).
